About Shelley

I am a kindred spirit to children and animals. As far back as I can remember I have been sensitive to animals. My plan was to be a veterinarian but realized upon going to UC Davis that I am no good with blood. So I have channeled my energies into helping children learn to use their voice. Similarly, having been an animal rights activist all of my life, I have always wanted to be a voice for animals. Over the past l0 years I have been able to channel my desire to help animals into being a volunteer for dogs who have been in the shelter for a long time. When I was small, I remember seeing a movie about a talking pit bull who began in a fighting ring and ended up winning a beauty contest. This must have stayed in my consciousness because about ll years ago, I began a journey helping pit bulls who have been in the shelter for a long time to be seen as the beautiful beings they are and just need a champion. I have helped almost l5 pit mix dogs to get out of the shelter into either Loving homes or Loving sanctuaries where they have a good life.

I have a fire in my heart to help animals and believe that is one of the reasons I am here. I have found that my sensitivities, which have been developed further through an Applied Intuition 8 week course along with the following Reiki training as well as animal communication courses since the Interspecies Communication Intensive have come together to provide me with the skills to share Reiki with animals:

Background and Qualifications:

• Reiki Master Teacher
• Reiki Level 1 and 2 courses
• Member of the Light of Avalon Team – a Metaphysical Healing Program for Rescue, Shelter & ZOO animals founded in 2014 by Carolyn Paige, Reiki Master Teacher & Metaphysician.  The Team has been going to DAWG, as well as other shelters, giving Reiki & Metaphysical healing energies to rescue & shelter animals, every other Saturday & Mondays, since its inception.
• The Team has been going to DAWG and sending Reiki to the shelter dogs every other Saturday for several years.
• 5 day Interspecies Communication Intensive training at the Monroe Institute of Consciousness with Nancy Windheart, Animal Communicator September 2019
• 3 day Interspecies Communication Intensive Training with Nancy Windheart, Animal Communicator on-line (due to Covid-19) November 2020
• Basic Animal Communication and Deepening Animal Communication Courses most recently with Nancy Windheart and over the years with Penelope Smith, Jeri Ryan- Assisi International Animal Institute, Guerney Institute of Animal Communication
• Over the past year Animal Reiki Courses with Kathleen Prasad including Let Animals Lead Approach
• Ongoing coaching with a gifted mentor in Australia who is helping me deepen my animal communication skills
• Currently How to Talk to Your Pet Course– Dr. Cara Gubbins, Animal Communicator
